Active research sites, proposals in progress, and events NSAG is moving toward in 2027. This is what is happening right now, already underway.
NSAG’s home market. The Hawaii Cannabis Expo is simultaneously a local industry event and a governance laboratory: emerging regulation, contested cultural claims, patient advocacy, and wellness positioning all operating without a coherent governance framework. NSAG holds a Partnerships & Sponsorship Lead role.
The creative industry’s annual convergence is the primary NSAG field site for brand trust governance, AI-era attention, and the measurement of what creative systems are doing to human nervous systems. NSAG enters Cannes 2027 as a founding partner research platform — the NSAG Attention & Trust Index is co-authored here.
The Davos of the wellness industry. GWS’s own 2026 research identified “regulating the nervous system” as the next frontier of human health. NSAG is proposing a research partnership: governance measurement data from Edge Esmeralda 2027 contributing a new Wellness Governance category to the Global Wellness Economy Monitor.
NSAG’s primary intentional community field research site. 500+ founders, scientists, and researchers. The full NSAG framework is simultaneously active. Long Journey Residency application submitted. The governance experiment here produces the core dataset for the NSAG Attention & Trust Index.
70,000 participants. A temporary city governed entirely by 10 explicit principles: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leave no trace, participation, immediacy. The most explicit governance experiment in public life. Art grant application window: October 2026.
Theme: “Do Architecture — For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality.” Curators Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu’s premise — architecture as bodily, local, tactile — is NSAG’s thesis in physical form. The Biennale is the single most aligned institutional framing NSAG has encountered. Collateral event proposal in development.
350,000 visitors. 2,500+ designers. DDW’s five thematic missions — reduce, restore, rethink, reconnect, reinvent — map directly to NSAG governance dimensions. Already on the Amsterdam travel arc (October 2027). Participation application opens early 2027 — NSAG as an exhibitor or presenter.
PanelPicker opened June 25, 2026 — submitting this week. Session title: “The 47-Second Problem: Governing What AI Does to Human Attention.” Brand & Marketing track. SXSW is the largest conference accelerator for paid keynote careers and speaker bureau representation — UTA and others have signed speakers directly from SXSW sessions. Public voting opens August 2026. Selection by producers September–October 2026.
70,000+ attendees. The largest tech conference in the world by attendance. EU AI Act enforcement context makes the Brussels-adjacent regulatory argument land with urgency a US-based audience doesn’t feel the same way. NSAG’s regulatory tailwind argument is most powerful here.
Smaller, more personal than TED main. TEDNext asks bigger questions about life, work, and direction. NSAG’s governance-of-self argument — attention quality, meaning, belonging — fits this audience better than the enterprise-facing pitch.
Already on the October 2027 travel arc alongside Dutch Design Week and Frieze London. The Amsterdam AI governance conversation is directly upstream of EU enforcement. NSAG’s regulatory mandate argument lands with maximum force in this specific room.
85,000+ visitors. The art world’s most commercially significant week — concurrent with Mayfair gallery week and major auction sales. Frieze governs trust, attention, and belonging across the luxury cultural economy. JBD, CLR, and FNM press credentials are potential access routes. On the October London → Amsterdam travel arc.
